Events
Keyboards at Christmas The annual elegant and enjoyable concert of Christmas favorites from many musical time periods and genres. First Baptist Church Concord will be presenting "Keyboards at Christmas" at the University of Tennessee Alumni Hall in December as an event of Christmas in the City.
Music
The Appalachian Ballet Company has been providing high-quality dance performances for the greater Knoxville area since 1972. An Honor Company in the Southeast Regional Ballet Association, each year the company presents an opening performance at Pellissippi State, an annual Nutcracker with the Knoxville Symphony at the Civic Auditorium, and a spring performance at the Tennessee Theater or the Bijou Theater. The East Tennessee Concert Band is a professional, adult community organization which provides quality concert events to the East Tennessee area. The KCB was organized in 1991 with the purpose of providing a musical outlet for better musicians in the East Tennessee area. The band has members from Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Grainger, Knox, Meigs, Rhea, Roane, and Scott counties. The KCB is under the direction of Dr. Ric Best. The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting jazz music in East Tennessee. Formed in August of 1999, the group has already released two critically acclaimed CDs and has performed at major European jazz festivals including the Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz a Vienne, and the Ezcaray Jazz Festival.
